Short Update

I found the root cause of the website weirdness – it’s my provider. They are useless and I am working hard to get something up on a stable platform before tonights broadcast.

We managed to get everything picked up and sorted, and the rest was sent to the dump. I must admit we have all been in a depressed mood, to the point that we are not even setting up a tree or decorating the house this year.
The support, kind emails, and notes dropped off at the house have been fantastic—thank you.
I received a private message via Facebook asking if I could attend parties in my Santa outfit since there is no show this year. It was an excellent idea, and I will add a section to the website with an appointment calendar shortly. This is a neat idea to help raise funds for the rebuild.
So far, the GoFundMe has raised nearly 50% of the goal. Today, we had a generous anonymous cash donation of $2000 in an envelope with an unsigned card in our mailbox. I have no idea who did this, but a BIG THANK YOU to whoever is behind this.
We have the redesign ideas on paper, and the roof framework has been redesigned. It is being reviewed by a structural engineer and will be an early Summer 2025 project. The broader xLights community has been supportive, and two vendors are giving us generous discounts to purchase new moving heads and pixels. We have some innovative plans for the new house and fence outlines. We plan to use a new LED technology and expand the outlines to more of the house and all the fences. Two of the flame effects got damaged, and I could salvage parts. We will order replacements early next year. They come from China, so your guess is as good as mine as the cost may be by then.

Lastly, please have a lovely holiday season. Be kind, bake lots of goodies, and drink with friends. Keep the idea of the fat man with the sack alive for the kids as long as possible.
As for me, I never stopped believing, and I hope I never do.
